MANASSAS, VA, January 15, 2013 – Clean Office Inc. and American Disposal Services are proud to announce that the WWF building, headquarters of the World Wildlife Fund in Washington DC, is implementing the GreenStream program. Recently created by a partnership between American Disposal Services and CleanOffice Inc., GreenStream is a streamlined solution for waste removal and green cleaning in commercial spaces with the goal of directing more office waste into recycling receptacles.
WWF will launch the GreenStream program across all 251,707 square feet of the building, starting January 1, 2014. Implementation of this program at WWF headquarters will enhance the quadruple platinum LEED certification they have tirelessly worked to achieve. The WWF building was built to conserve resources, limit waste and pollution and is home to the third largest green roof in Washington, DC.
Property management at WWF was concerned their ongoing recycling efforts were not reaching their full potential and looking for a way to bridge the gap between desk-side recycling and where the material ultimately ended up. They were seeking to ensure the recycling process in their office was being seen through correctly every step of the way, and their recyclables were being used to make new, recycled goods. The GreenStream program provides that guarantee.
In addition to green cleaning, Greenstream is also a full service environmental consultant; offering comprehensive and accurate waste audits to prove measureable waste diversion. Property managers at WWF will now have constant access to precise data on how much of their waste stream is recycling and ensure that stream is being delivered to the recycling processing facility, The American Recycling Center, to be processed correctly.
“We say that GreenStream is a streamlined, full service and full circle program because our team ensures that recyclables are handled correctly from the minute they hit that desk-side recycling bin until they’re processed at our facility, the American Recycling Center.” Mark O’Brien, CEO of CleanOffice Inc. said. “We are a local company, so we’re able to provide a professional service with that personal touch that’s so important to us, and of course, having our own facility (The American Recycling Center) right around the corner ensures that, large or small, all our client’s recycled materials achieve the ultimate goal: being used for new, recycled products.”
With the implementation of the GreenStream program, WWF will see a major impact not only environmentally but financially; by lowering and reducing the total operating expense of the building.
